Information on Bhai Dooj
On 24th October 2006, the event of Bhaai Dooj concludes the festival of Diwali. The blessings and good wishes for the brother's long life and prosperity are showered by the sister. The ritual related to the festivity of Bhai Phota is pre dominant in every Hindu family. The sister decorates the thali with pooja accessories such as coconut, rice, sweets, Ayurveda herbs, vermilion and sandalwood paste, ghee, kumkum or sindoor or kasturi and turmeric, oil lamp and incense sticks. She smears tikka on the forehead of the brother, gives eatables like sweets and fruits and wishes him good luck. Brothers and sisters gift each other on this day. Lovely gift products are supplied by the Indian suppliers such as sweet hampers, pooja thali, varied chocolates, assorted dry fruits, greetings, watches and shirts to name a few. In the corporate world, bhau beej gifts are labeled with corporate name and logo and used as promotional tools.
