Teacher! Guru Purnima is celebrated on the full moon of Ashadh (July/August). This day is also commemorated in the name of the famous sage Ved Vyas. The occasion is also known as Vyas Purnima. The sage Ved Vyas is considered the original Guru of the Hindu Dharma. Thus the Puranas and the Mahabharat! It falls on 30th June, 2007. Gu means darkness and Ru means the remover of that darkness.
