Vande Mataram! Salute the revolutionaries on the event of Independence Day. On 15th August, 1947 India was set free from the clutches of the British, French and Portuguese. This day marks a significant event in Indian history, a moment to mourn as well as celebrate. Indians grieve on this day due to the partition of India in three distinct territories; celebrate the freedom achieved from the foreigners. The fete is commemorated in every educational institution, enterprise and residential areas. To honor the avant-garde such as Subhash Chandra Bose, Ram Mohan Roy, Bhagat Singh, Bagha Jatin, Sukhdev and many more, flags are hoisted and gifts are exchanged. Independence greetings, sweets, gift hampers, calendars are common gifts all over. In corporations, it serves as an important moment to gift their employees.
