A Hindu pilgrimage centers around bathing and takes place at four places, namely Prayag, Haridwar, Ujjain and Nasik. The belief: The gods and demons fought in the sky for acquiring the pot of Amrit (the nectar of immortality) for 12 days and 12 nights. During the battle, drops of this Amrit fell in the four pilgrim places and thus, these locations are sacred pilgrim areas. Rituals include religious discussions, devotional singing and mass feeding of holy people as well as the poor and religious assemblies.
